Notes From A Slugfest: Rockies vs. Marlins
In perhaps the highest scoring game I have ever seen, the Rockies edged the Marlins 18-17. Some things to take away from this game:
- Matt Holliday connected on two homers (one a grand slam) to bring his season total to 12. I am expecting a big second half for Holliday.
- Chris Iannetta continues to solidify himself as the Rockies leading catcher with two more hits and his eighth homer of the season. Unless you have one of the top few options at catcher, Iannetta is looking like the future in Colorado and the future looks bright.
- Ryan Spilborghs hit two homers in the game as well, but this is not something to get too excited about. Spilborghs isn’t an everyday player in real baseball and isn’t a factor in fantasy baseball.
- Hanley Ramirez is THE MAN! Is there anything he can’t do? He hit his 21st homer of the season, and along with Grady Sizemore are the two players who are 20/20 at the All-Star Break. If he’s not the top player in fantasy baseball, I don’t know who is.
