It doesn’t get much better of a pitching matchup than Jake Peavy and Ben Sheets. Sheets has beaten the odds and actually remained healthy for the vast majority of the season, while Peavy has been his usual dominant self in 2008. They didn’t disappoint. Chris Carpenter made his triumphant return to the Cardinals lineup on Wednesday, as the former Cy Younger came back to try to help St. Louis make a playoff run.
