Injury News and Analysis August 31st

Chipper Jones

After my article on my site Fantasy Baseball Strategy described how many athletes hide injuries, Chipper is being reported to have several nagging injuries, including Quad, Hamstring, and elbow problems.  He is an example of an athlete who at times may be too tough for his own good.  Most likely his current elbow problem is related to all of his other problems and likely will not go…

It’s that time…

Injury wise any ligament tear or fracture has the possibility to end someone’s season. With the season over in a little over 6 weeks, it’s crunch time.

Carl Crawford

He felt a pop in his hand during his last at bat which to me isn’t good considering they put him on the DL right away basically.  During a swing there is an incredible amount of…

Injury News and Analysis August 3rd

Man there have been a lot of injuries lately, some severe some not. I’m going to have to look over some numbers to see if there is any pattern year to year. Until then, let’s go over the new injuries and injury news.

Khalil Greene

Storage Chest 1, Khalil Greene 0. Along with Troy Tulowitzski this has to be one of the dumb injuries that will end up…

Injury News and Analysis July 30th

Yup lots of injuries, 2 of which likely directly effected the World Series.

Chipper Jones

Chipper was placed on the DL for his strained Hamstring, but in actuality it was probably a combination of the hamstring and all of the other leg ailments he has had this season.   He’s likely going to be on the DL for at least a few weeks, but that’s what you expected when you drafted him.

Tim Hudson

Another…

Injury News and Analysis July 27th

Dustin McGowan

Dustin will undergo surgery on his shoulder this Thursday to repair his labrum and possibly his rotator cuff. Fraying of the labrum usually isn’t too severe a problem unless the fraying progressed into a labral tear or if there is a rotator cuff repair as well. He is obviously done for the year and depending on the damage inside his shoulder could extend well into next year…

Beyond the Boxscore–Fantasy MLB News and Notes 7/23/08

Jorge Posada has decided to postpone the surgery that would fix his injured shoulder until the offseason, instead he is going to try to rehab so that he can still help the Yankees in ‘08 as a DH.  I can’t say that I agree with this decision for a couple of reasons.  One, the Yankees already have three or four guys who are…

Injury News July 2nd

With the onslaught of injury news the past several days, I’ve had to limit my analysis to the top ones that I expect will have ramifications for your fantasy team. If you like these and would like to see what else I do other than injury analysis, please check out Fantasy Baseball Strategy.

Dan Uggla

Uggla has said that he probably won’t return until Thursday July…

Injury News & Analysis - June 29, 2008

Mark Mulder

Mulder came off of the DL but sent to bullpen as their left handed specialist for the immediate time being. He has basically lost the last two seasons due to Expect nothing from him fantasy wise because he’s going to be a left-handed specialist.

Jason Isringhausen

Isringhausen went to DL (or likely will) because of feeling a pop in his knee while stretching in the dugout on Thursday. He said…

Beyond the Boxscore–Fantasy MLB News and Notes 6/20/08

Roy Halladay was the victim of his team’s inability to score again on Friday. Halladay was brilliant going seven shutout innings and striking out seven. He will once again get a no decision because his team failed to score any runs for him as well. This is the sixth time this year that the Jays failed to get Halladay the support he deserved, as they scored two runs or…

Beyond the Boxscore–Fantasy MLB News and Notes 6/13/08
