The Arizona Diamondbacks welcomed back Eric Byrnes to their lineup tonight after missing almost a month with tears in both hamstrings. Unfortunately for them, he picked up where he left off, and took an 0-5 tonight against the Red Sox and Josh Beckett. Reds’ rookie Jay Bruce had quite the major league debut for himself. Bruce went 3-3 with two walks and a stolen base. The same thing applies to Bruce that I said about Kershaw the other day. There’s not much more to say about Bruce. If he is available, go get him right away, he should have a major fantasy impact in 2008.

Today, the big time prospect did not disappoint. Clayton Kershaw was as good as advertised on Sunday as he had his way with many of the St. Louis Cardinals. Kershaw went six innings, allowed two runs and struck out seven. There’s not too much else to say, if you were debating on using your waiver priority on him, this should seal the deal. Pick him up in all formats.
Today was the seventh consecutive start for Jacoby Ellsbury for the Boston Red Sox. He has brought a spark to the Sox offense, and stole two bases for the second consecutive day, and now has eight on the season.
