Injury News and Analysis September 7th

Carlos Quentin

Surprise surprise, it’s not the forearm it’s the wrist. This is just another reason why we cannot always believe what the team tells us regarding an injuries health. He’s going to have a screw inserted into the wrist in order to help facilitate healing. While I am not 100% suggesting this is the case, often surgical fixation is needed for scaphoid fractures. The scaphoid bone…

Injury News and Analysis August 31st

Chipper Jones

After my article on my site Fantasy Baseball Strategy described how many athletes hide injuries, Chipper is being reported to have several nagging injuries, including Quad, Hamstring, and elbow problems.  He is an example of an athlete who at times may be too tough for his own good.  Most likely his current elbow problem is related to all of his other problems and likely will not go…

Beyond the Boxscore–Fantasy MLB News and Notes 5/25/08 Kershaw, Verlander, Byrnes, Cabrera and more

Today, the big time prospect did not disappoint. Clayton Kershaw was as good as advertised on Sunday as he had his way with many of the St. Louis Cardinals. Kershaw went six innings, allowed two runs and struck out seven. There’s not too much else to say, if you were debating on using your waiver priority on him, this should seal the deal. Pick him up in all formats.

It…

Beyond the Boxscore–Fantasy MLB News and Notes 5/4/08 Injury Notes, Travis Hafner, Pitching Performances

Curtis Granderson is destroying the ball since his return from the DL. Granderson hit his 5th homer in just his 11th game back healthy. He is hitting .317 and also stole his first base of the season. Most impressive so far from Granderson is that he has walked nine times, while striking out just six. This is a marked…
