Injury News and Analysis September 7th

Carlos Quentin

Surprise surprise, it’s not the forearm it’s the wrist. This is just another reason why we cannot always believe what the team tells us regarding an injuries health. He’s going to have a screw inserted into the wrist in order to help facilitate healing. While I am not 100% suggesting this is the case, often surgical fixation is needed for scaphoid fractures. Beyond the Boxscore for August 16, 2008

Since his return from the disabled list, Fausto Carmona has been less than spectacular.  He was better than he has been lately, going seven innings, allowing only two earned runs, and walking three.  The thing that keeps me away from Carmona was exactly what occurred again tonight.  In those seven innings he pitched tonight, he struck out NOBODY.  When you get a fantasy…

Even when he loses, Brandon Webb is pretty damn good. Webb went seven innings, allowed just three runs and struck out seven. His offense just didn’t show up tonight and his record fell to 9-1. Obviously, Webb is a must start every time out, and is getting to be a shoe in to start the All-Star Game for the…

Welcome back Salty! After being inexplicably sent down to AAA to start the season, Jarrod Saltalamacchia is back with the Rangers. Starter Gerald Laird is still in Texas so this doesn’t necessarily mean that Salty will take the full time catching duties. He will most likely catch once or twice a week, DH some, and maybe grab some starts…
