Beyond the Boxscore Weekend Edition - 8/22-8/24

Aaron Harang was finally able to get back into the win column on Friday, as he threw six shutout innings and struck out four batters as he raised his nightmare season’s record to 4-13. The Harangatang, as one of my most loyal readers likes to call him, won his first game since June 13th, and even though he had a quality…

Injury News and Analysis

Football draft. Check. Pre-season practices starting for work. Check. Me losing whatever sense I had left. Check. On to the injuries:

Alex Gordon

Alex tore his upper quad most likely the Rectus Femoris muscle. I say this because initially it was described as a groin injury by various places and then quickly switched to the quad tear once it was released. The only muscle of…

Beyond the Boxscore for August 18, 2008

John Maine has now made two starts since he was activated off of the DL, and he hasn’t given up a run yet.  Let’s not get crazy though, these starts have been far from dominating.  He went just five innings in each start, allowing just one hit the first time, and two on Monday.  His problem has been his control.  In these 10…

Beyond the Boxscore for August 13, 2008

Sorry about the night off, it was a birthday celebration.

Delmon Young is really starting to heat up now.  After having just four homers the whole season, Young now has three bombs over the last five days.  If this is the start of a hot streak for Delmon, he could really help carry your team to a championship.  He has a TON of potential…

Injury News and Analysis July 30th

Yup lots of injuries, 2 of which likely directly effected the World Series.

Chipper Jones

Chipper was placed on the DL for his strained Hamstring, but in actuality it was probably a combination of the hamstring and all of the other leg ailments he has had this season.   He’s likely going to be on the DL for at least a few weeks, but that’s what you expected when you drafted him.

Tim Hudson

Another…

Teixeira on the Move Again

It seems like every time I write something here, it happens to be on the same day as a major trade. Today’s move was the biggest and most impactful one so far this year. The Angels get Mark Teixeira in return for Casey Kotchman and minor league pitcher Steve Marek. This marks the second straight year big Tex has…

Bad Injury News 7/5

Nats’ OF Elijah Dukes left Saturday’s game after slamming into the wall trying to catch a ball.  Dukes was carted from the field and appears to be headed for the DL.  The results of his MRI are not know yet, but it looks like he will miss at least a few weeks.  This is disappointing as Dukes was starting to make an impact for the Nationals and some fantasy teams.

Roy…
