NASCAR Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube

Good morning, race fans!  It's time for the Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffylube in Las Vegas! Look for a cloudy, cool race today, with drivers looking to gamble on two tires and fuel mileage this week.  Chase Elliott is OUT for likely the next 6 weeks as he had broken his leg in a snowboarding accident.  Xfinity series stand-out Josh Berry is filling in this week for Elliott.

Drivers starting at the rear this week include Tyler Reddick (engine), Harrison Burton (backup), and BJ McLeod (adjustments). No tech inspections Sunday since cars were impounded.  The weather looks like a 5% chance of rain for when the green flag drops at 3:30EST today.  Start your engines!

I'll be playing in Draft Kings this week. If you're new to the NASCAR DFS world, here's a quick summary of how scoring is done:

Look for a mix of drivers that fit the following:

Start upfront and can potentially lead a lot of laps.

Good drivers starting farther back can pass many cars and finish with a strong differential.

Drivers starting up front I like:
Joey Logano, William Byron

Drivers with great differential potential and could lead laps:
Austin Cindric, Tyler Reddick

Drivers with great differential points, and possible top finishes:
Erik Jones, Austin Dillon

Most likely to be chalk plays:
Kyle Busch, Joey Logano

It's going to be very tough to beat the chalk of Joey Logano and Kyle Busch this week, but the notable starting position of Ty Gibbs and Austin Cindric can help go against the grain and save some salary.

Pennzoil 400 Winner  Joey Logano
Best Bet for a solid finish Kyle Larson, Kyle Busch
Dark Horse Differentiators Ty Gibbs, Austin Cindric
Chalk Plays Kyle Busch, Joey Logano

My DFS Line-up Today:

DK Chrome Horn 150K

Other Picks and props:

Fanduel Ty Gibbs +1600 Outright, Brad Keselowski +2000

NASCAR Fantasy Live:
The revamped Fantasy Live game run by is a free game to win prizes and test your skills at picking drivers with limited starts. Each driver has 10 allocations, a garage slot you can swap with mid-race, and the ability to choose drivers in head-to-head match-ups for bonus points. Play at

After a good showing at Fontana last week, I'm looking to build that momentum. Here's who I have in my NASCAR Fantasy Live Pool this week:

One-and-done Games:

The popular pick this week will be Josh Berry with Chase Elliott out. I think Berry is a better pick NEXT week at Phoenix if he keeps the ride. Being near the top in our pools, I am looking for someone who is going to potentially finish better than Berry, but not cost a top driver.  I like Justin Haley a lot this week, with a nod also going to Ryan Preece. Joey Logano is a good choice if you're way behind.
