Player Props Returns: Week 3

It may be Week 3 of the NFL season but it’s Week 1 for me as I celebrate the return of my player props article. I really enjoyed writing this weekly article for Fighting Chance Fantasy last season and while I did have some ups and downs, overall, my suggestions were correct 57% of the time.

This was a tough week. It seemed that for every prop I considered recommending, I found multiple reasons to suggest otherwise. I finally found a few player props that I did like and I’m going to jump right in and share my favorites with you for Week 3.

Please remember that gambling is super risky and you should only use funds that you can afford to lose.

Jonathan Taylor, RB, Indianapolis Colts
Over 91.5 rushing yards

I’m going to start off with what I consider to be an easy pick. Taylor is one of the NFL’s best running backs and his Week 3 opponent, the Tennessee Titans, are one of the worst teams in the NFL. The Colts should win this game easily and by the second half they’ll be running the ball a ton, as they run down the clock on their way to their third victory. The Titans are giving up 5.52 YPC to NFL RBs this season and the Colts are calling the third most running plays of any NFL teams. That seems like a recipe for disaster for the Titans, but that scenario provides you with an opportunity to win a bet in Week 3.

Juwan Johnson, TE, New Orleans Saints
Over 4.5 receptions

Johnson is second on the Saints with 20 targets this season and he is tied with Chris Olave for the team lead in receptions with 13. He takes on the Seattle Seahawks in Week 3 and they’ve given up the third most receptions to TEs (16) this season. Look for Saints QB Spencer Rattler to lean on Johnson again this week, who should easily record at least five receptions.

Alvin Kamara, RB, New Orleans Saints
Over 3.5 Receptions

I may be picking on the Seahawks this week, but it feels like the right thing to do. Kamara returned to form as one of the NFL’s best pass catching RBs last week, reeling in all six of his targets. He should be able to take advantage of the fact that the Seahawks have given up the most receptions to RBs (19) this season and crush this receiving prop.

Caleb Williams, QB, Chicago Bears
Over 235.5 passing yards

I went back and forth on whether to suggest that you take the over on this passing prop. Williams is going up against his former head coach in new Cowboys defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus, who might be able to exploit some of Williams’ weaknesses. However, so far Eberflus hasn’t done a good job in his new position. His defense allowed New York Giants QB Russell Wilson to turn back the hands of time and torch the Cowboys for 450 passing yards in Week 3. Between the Cowboys’ depleted pass rush and their second-rate secondary, Williams should be able to throw for more than 235 yards in a must win game in front of a home crowd.

Isiah Pacheco, RB, Kansas City Chiefs
Over 40.5 rushing yards

Pacheco has had a very slow start to the 2025 season but that should all change this week. He is still the clear leader of the Chiefs’ backfield based on snap counts, and he has a great matchup against a New York Giants run defense that is giving up 5.7 YPC to RBs this season. I’m a Giants fan, but I think the Chiefs are going to coast to a big win in Week 3. They’ll have the game in hand by the third quarter and Pacheco will get plenty of carries in the second half.
